ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    engine swap h22a into f22a

Hi guys i'm clueless about cars i have a auto prelude 2.2si 4th gen with f22a engine. Recently engine blew so i'm wanting to put in a h22a vtec instead but was told that because my cars an auto it can't be done i would have to switch in a manual gearbox is this true?.

Also what would i need to do if it does fit and is it an expensive swap. gearbox is 4 speed.

And last the h22a has damaged sensors can i use any of my f22a sensors?

    Thx

The H22A will bolt in fine. I'm not familiar with auto swaps so you may have to swap a mount out or two to make it work correctly. You also need the correct ECU and harness to wire to make VTEC work correctly.

    Which sensors are broken?

As far as budget, I would plan for at least $1000 for the motor, and if you can't do this on your own, perhaps anther $1000-$1500 for a shop to do it.

      Thx for the prompt reply

The throttle body sensor and egr sensor ,egr valve also . Can get the engine for 700$. I heard that a generic ecu(not sure what u call it) can work and it also can substitute for broken sensors.

That would be what we call a "chipped" ECU. Basically, people use an ECU from another car that has been modified so that it can be programmed... it's NOT a good way to do a swap initially. Get it running on the proper ECU first, then worry about changing things.

Look at the "Swaps" section of this site. The "Sticky" threads at the top show how to do the swap in a CB7. It will be even easier into a Prelude.
