ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I have looked around and can't find any info.. my fuel pump went out on my 90 accord and i had a used one from a 92 put into it and now my gas light isn't working

Either the sensor is faulty, or wasn't wired correctly.
You're going to have to drop the tank again... or deal with it.

If it were me, I would just let it go. I know it's there for a good reason, but it I think it's easier to watch the needle and not have a light tell me. It has to get pretty low for the light to come on anyway. But if you have lots of extra time on your hands, it could be a Saturday project I guess.

you can reach the sending unit from inside the car. its only the pump that isnt accessible from inside.

Well after i had the fuel pump changed i don't trust the needle.. i cant even get it to the "F" when i fill up... I guess all i wanted to know was is it the fuel pump that makes the gas light come on?

It's the sending unit. It is either tweaked or has a connection problem. Fix it from inside the vehicle as stated above.

that's strange because the fuel pump sending unit which controls the fuel gauge and the gas light is separate from the fuel pump

to change the fuel pump you have to drop tank they probably forgot to reconnect the sending unit which is in the trunk by the passenger side

Probably messed up when installing the fuel pump is my guess with the needle issue. On the gas light issue in my opinion you should never wait for the gas light to come on. It's bad for cars to get that low on gas thats what makes fuel pumps go out quicker.

Maybe when you dropped the tank the sending unit wires got pull and now has false connection.

Or better yet maybe during the installing of the tank the wires got pinched. Trust me it happens more often than you think.
