Recently my tcu went out on my 1992 ex and i went to pick n pull and almost all the auto tcu's were gone! So the one's that i did find had burnt circuit like mine. The one i ended up getting was from a 93 lx. Its is working fine and no more damn D4 light and only 2nd and 3rd gear. Is there a difference in the two? And should i try to get one from a ex model? Or just keep it in?

i would think its different because i think the ex has a longer geared tranny, but what you can do is check the honda part numbers -
One say lx and the other says ex....so noone has any helpful info???? Kinda figured someone could help but i guess im wrong....Comment

It won't make or break the car, it will work just fine aslong as it's 92-93.

You don't have to specify "auto" TCU. Manual transmissions don't have computers.
Anyway, there are some differences. As said, there shouldn't be any serious issues as long as it's a 92-93. Shift points will vary slightly, but not to a harmful degree.
If you ever need to know if there are differences between parts, go to hondaautomotiveparts.com, or call your local Honda dealer, and compare part numbers. Different number, different part.
