im having a problem with my clutch. i just put a new clutch and flywheel in my car and still having a problem with the clutch slave pressure not releasing from the fork the slave back to the master cylinder. so its pushing enough as if im constantly riding my clutch and its heating up and eventually my pedal grab gets higher and higher all the time. i have a steel braided line direct from the master to the slave thinking it could be the line but it wasn't. both slave and master are fairly new too from leaking before and from napa parts store. can and of you give me an opinion on what it could be? last thing i can think of is it could be the master not letting the pressure all the way back. my last resort is spending the money and buying them from honda. thanks,

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

did you buy the cheapest master and slave cylinders from napa? if so, there's a decent chance it's just bad parts. someone who knows more could answer this better, but I will add that buying factory Honda parts or more expensive parts that you've researched is the best way to go 90% of the time. I recently replaced my master cylinder with a non-Honda part, but it was 95 bucks from advance compared to the cheapest 15 dollar master cylinder. you get what you pay for, as much as it sucks.

You may need to adjust the rod connecting the main to the pedal. If you have the rod too far in on the main it'll constantly build pressure to the point where you have the problems you described. Has the clutch system ever lost pressure since you installed the new main and slave? Check the slave cylinder boot for fluid. You may have the pedal set up with too much depression."Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster" Proverbs 10:14

Had the same issue a while back, turned out to be the return spring on the clutch fork had snapped so the slave was not returning all the way. New spring and the problem was solved. Also, if the rod from pedal to master cylinder is to long the master cannot return all the way back which will not open the circuit to allow the excess fluid back to the resevoir. So check your linkage adjustment and any missing or broken return springs.

I bet that's the problem. Adjust the rod on the main cylinder in a bit so you have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of play before the pedal engages the main cylinder. You also may have to adjust the two switches at the top of the pedal as they will affect the play in the pedal. Once you have the pedal set you may have to bleed the system again. Did you ever check the slave cylinder boot to see if fluid was in there?Last edited by cpl hero; 04-14-2013, 11:25 PM."Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster" Proverbs 10:14

There are two switches at the top of the pedal pivot point. Ones to disengage the cruise control and the others for ignition/starter engagement. But before you adjust those you need to adjust the main cylinder rod. Loosen the lock nut and thread the rod in till you have 2 or 3 threads showing where it screws into the pedal. This should give you a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch play in the pedal."Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster" Proverbs 10:14
