ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Water Leak from BFE!!!

hey all! so im having an issue with my cooling system....i have checked and replaced upper, lower, and a little L shaped hose (underneath the car on the back of the block and under the throttle body) not 100% sure what to call it, but there is still a leak and its impossible to see where its coming from...

the only clue i can give to you is the "L" hose that i replaced, its trickling down from the "metal pipe" that the "L" hose connects to (btw the "L" hose is only about 4inches.) and i cannot figure how to get to this pipe without pulling the engine. any suggestions or know what i am talking about!?

since your talking about that general area, there are some control valves around that area that tend to rust out with age plus the fact that lots of people just throw water in the radiator..anyways the things with small hoses running to them carrying water, are usually leaking themselves.

Is that the one on the firewall?

Its the heater core. Should be able to get it from the passenger side with the intake removed. CUT it off don't pull it. It's prob rusted on.

Is that the hose your talking about?

oh. Thats the metal pipe. You will prob have to remove the intake. Maybe you can get to it from the bottom.

              Good luck.

Prob going to have to get that from a JY.

I've never changed out the water pipe but I have envisioned that you could remove the thermostat housing and wiggle/slide it out towards the passenger side. Also, hoses 13 and 14 connect to your oil cooler, that's what that thing is that the oil filter seats to.

Is it leaking where it meets the block or where it meets the thermostat housing? Or from hose 17?

Why would he need to replace the pipe? More than likely it's a bad o ring.
