ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    h22 swap question

Havent been on ina while i sold my cb7 unfortunatly :-(...... but my buddy has a 90 and just had a mechanic put in a h22.. So its in and they say that he needs to get a specail bracket for the power steering ( have no idea where to find dat) then he says that he needs a step down in order to make the ecu work with the car. Once again we have no idea where to this step down... ive search online and cant find it. we do have the ecu tht comes with the h22 motor can anyone help makes since of it??????

I didn't do my swap personally but my F22 PS Bracket fit just fine. And what is a "Step Down"? That makes no sense. I'm guessing he doesn't know how to wire for VTEC.

If you're using the factory power steering pump that came with your Accord then you need the power steering bracket from an Accord or Ascot Innova that had the DOHC F20A or H23A engine in it.

I don't know what a step down is either unless you have an OBD2 engine and ECU and he's asking for some type of harness adapter to connect your OBD2 ECU to the OBD1 harness. You really need more information about what your friend has and what's being done to this car. It sounds like he's paying someone to do work without knowing enough about the process to effectively guide the mechanic.

I'm using the H22A power steering pump, bracket and high pressure line.

And an OBD1 P13 will plug right in. No adapters needed. Just have to wire up VTEC (and IABs if the car is a DX or LX that didn't come with them.) Rywire sells a VTEC sub-harness if you don't want to do the wiring...

X2 on the rywire kit. Its like $42 shipped.
My power steering was a pain in my ass for 2 weeks. Then I had a guy custom fab a hose for me. I'm using 97 pump and bracket with the custom hose I had made.

If you have a p13 you are set. If you have a p5m(I think thats what it is) you need to get a p13.

I did my own swap for this very reason. I don't like to pay people to do something and then they say. We need blah blah.

If the engine is OBD2 its a little more than just a direct swap.

The shop that did my swap created a custom bracket for my power steering.
