ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

H23A swap into 91 EX... noob has questions

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say that I've been following cb7tuner for a bit, and been reading a few of the threads about swaps, but I have yet to see anyone who has successfully swapped an H23 blue top into their cb7. Can anyone guide me to the right direction for guides on how this will be done right?

I know for a fact that the stock tranny and axles are compatible (just as long s s they're in great condition) with my h23 blue top swap, but what else needs to go and what can stay?

Also, with an h23 blue top, will I be able to keep my fairly new catalytic converter or will I have to buy one specifically made for a prelude motor?

youll need a tuned ecu, a h22 header, obd 1 plenum off h series, and add 3 wires for vtec in your engine harness. the cat might work depending on the flanges.

Will it matter what kind of h22 header? How about a type r header?

The cat should work. Might be narrow, but it should.

And what do you mean by "type r" header?

Also, the H23A is not a Prelude engine. Why would you need something specifically made for a prelude motor?

I've read that you can get away with the OBD2 injectors if you remove the injector resistor box, and possibly do some wiring. I'd get OBD1 injectors to be safe, if I was doing it.

Of course, I wouldn't get the H23A anyway. The H22A is so much easier and better supported.

Something tells me pretty much all the parts on it aside from the crank + rods are interchangeable with an OBDII H22A

              It should be fine

You get that motor plus the H22 IM, some Euro-R cams and a nice 3" header... you will have a very nice lump

Oops my bad, I got mixed up with my motors. I know that blue tops are Accord SiR motors... Sure gonna catch a lotta flak for this one... lol

But should I really go with an h22? I want to break away from the stereotypical "accord with h22 swap" crowd. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I would like to swap an H22 into my 91' but i've never dealt with making new wiring connections (like for Vtec, knock sensor, etc) so I am reluctant to even try. I'm sure its easy just have no idea of how. I have enough experience for all the other stuff having just done my first tear down and rebuild last year on my F22.

Also I don't know where to get the H22a from other than one place, a JDM shop online that runs in NJ. I have an automatic and need to know if I need the H22 transmission too (they have some that come with the AT).

if your nervous about running wires, rywire makes a kit where its all plug n play. just connect the plugs and pin the ecu. its easy.

I would get an H22 and swap the F22 crank + rods into it

You wont be able to rev to 8 but the torque will more than make up for it. H22s are all about midrange

I looked at their website, but which harness or subharness would apply to my swap to make the vtec work properly? I, too, am iffy about working on my own wiring...

If you are converting to obd1, then for a full plug in wire harness you will need this one
