ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    trans mount ?

I have a 92 prelude and i am doing a 5 speed swap and i know i am supposed to use the mount from my year model but my question is about the bracket from the trans to the mount. Is it the same bracket for the prelude and the accord or is there a difference in them?

Reason i ask is i have set the motor and trans in place and have all the motor mounts bolted in and the trans mount dose not line up with the original hole. I have seen where some ppl doing 5 speed swaps to accords have had to drill a new hole but i have also read and been told that the prelude should bolt right in. I am not 100% sure my bracket is for an accord or prelude but i know the trans is from an accord so the bracket may be also.

    Thanks

For Accords, you need to weld in a transmission mount bracket from a manual model. The brackets are different, and the transmission will not sit properly if the auto bracket is retained. Since this is an Accord forum, it's not likely that anyone here would know for sure if the manual bracket is different from the auto bracket on your Prelude. It's likely that it is. Go to hondaautomotiveparts.com and check the two brackets. If the part number is different, then the part is different. Get the manual bracket and weld it in.
The tapping of a new hole is done when swapping in a prelude engine and transmission... not at all applicable to you.

That would be best, honestly. We can help you with your engines and transmissions. The chassis, though similar, is different enough that most of us aren't likely going to be able to do much more than guess, which could end up being costly for you if you take some bad advice due to someone's ignorance.

the red circle is where they do not line up and the red arrow is the bracket in question.

              Thanks for taking a look!!!

You COULD just drill a new hole, but if you want it to look stock, you're gonna need to find a proper fitting bracket.

Yes i COULD just drill a new hole. BUT I would like to retain the stock hole so this is the reason i am asking about the bracket.

Is the Bracket the same between the prelude and accord?

i ran into this same issue when swapping my f20 into my cb7, the cb7 was originally auto, same issue with my 94 too, either redrill the hole or your gonna end up doin what i did and creating your own engine mount. the brackets wont be the same but neither will mount the same cause the car was originally auto. the rear t bracket in the back is it from an auto or manual?

No mount or bracket from another car is going to be correct. Some may be close, but the chance of breaking an axle due to it being slightly off is going to be a significant possibility.
Drilling a new hole, or fabbing a custom mount. Those are your two best options to ensure it fits properly.
