Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    Check the cooling fan fuses.
    Check the coolant level.

is it just overheating at idle? your fans shouldnt need to kick on once you are on the highway.

ill try to help you fix it anyhow.

i would start by checking fuses. easiest to break and easiest to fix.

if it isnt a fuse then i would check the relay that the fans are connected to. it may have a lot of corrosion.

let me know if these dont fix the issue.

If your car is overheating you should change your headgasket but while you there u might as well change the water pump and for the cooling situation make sure u check the fuses n the relay to see if its working

Why do you jump to headgasket? Could be many other simple things wrong. Maybe the cooling fan fuse is blown or the relay is bad.

Bypass cooling fan thermal switch as a test first before this.

^wondering the same myself. fuses and relay first. just because it is overheating has nothing to do with the head gasket.it's the fact the fan is not kicking on thats causing him to over heat according to what he has told us. worst comes to worst u might have to run a toggle inside to switch your fan on. ive been noticing my fan is not kicking on however it's the middle of winter and it's 20 deg and i upped my thermo to 180 over the summer.

and you could also check while your right there to make sure your radiator is not fucekd up and leaking or causing problems since that can cause to over heat your car and if your going to change the headgasket might as well do the water pump timing belt all the head gaskets manifold ext... and oil filter since once you remove the head it will be so easy to go and work with those parts and wont have to go and change them later on when they do mess up but have no reason to remove the head

Well im pretty sure everyone has covered the basics of making sure your cooling fans work if not go from there but if the do work take into account of whens the last time you have changed your thermostat if thats been done fairly recently move to the next step. Check to see if your leaking coolant it could possibly be time to do a timing belt and water pump. If your really worried about take the car to your local shop and get a block test done. Thatll tell you if you're gonna need a headgasket

I changed the thermostat with a new one and still nothing. I tested the fans by hooking them up directly to the battery and they worked that way so the fans are good. i jumped the pin connecter for the ect sensor and still nothing. i bled the cooling system. i have tried everything i can think of . thanks for all the replies i really appreciate it.

Fan switch "A" is most likely bad. Had something similar happen when I got my H swap.
