ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

i have a similar issue. well you replaced the water pipe so the only hoses that i know of in the intake manifold area are the two small hoses that run to the iacv. there is also a hose shaped as a U. this u hose i beleive is under and next to the thermostat housing. i heard that this hose goes bad because it can rub on the rear motor mount causing it to wear and tear. then you have two heater hoses runing from the block to the heater core. you can follow these two hoses from the firewall to the block. i beleive on the firewall they are about 2 to 3 inches apart. the left hose stops above the bell housing of the tranny and below the dizzy a little off to the left. the right hose runs to the front of the engine not sure where exactly.

look very carfully at these hoses for cracks, swelling and a greenish film of the surface of where its leaking.

also try to post a pic and let us know if you found the problem.

Those little hoses will cause that much coolant to leak. I had the same prob earlier this year.
        Replace them all.

if you cant find the leak outside it might be inside and you might be burning it ,, keep looking and hope you can find an external leak

Yes it may not leak until after the car is warmed up. Then it will spurt out of the leak.
I think I used 5/8 fuel. I just bought 10 feet today to do my h23im swap.

I changed out all but two this year. Thought I fixed the leak because it wasn't leaking. And as soon as I turned off the car. It leaked all over the back of the engine

all the little hoses on the top of the intake manifold are vacume lines. they are small diameter hoses but the hoses that are slightly larger hold colant in them that run to the idle air control valve and fast idle control valve. you can see what these valves look like by looking in the begginers forum in a sticky that sais "read here first". in that sticky you will see a link named "erratic idle fix" it will have a picture of the valves and one picture will show you the coolant lines that run thru them, a little hard to see but its there. if you are burning the coolant it can be due to a warped head maybe, or a blown head gasket. if a blown gasket your car would run like crap.

If it was me I'd take it to a radiator shop and have a pro do a pressure leak down test. Also replace the hose clamps. The OEM clamps are a bitch to squeeze sometimes.

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

Original Poster aka OP, If you do not know how long ago your coolant hoses were replaced, REPLACE THEM ALL! The coolant hoses that are under the intake manifold are notoriously overlooked... hell they were one of the first things to "go wrong" with my car cb after I bought it.

Yes they are a pain to replace, especially if all you got is a folding plier/knife thingamajig, its 90*F+ outside, and I spent a good half hour at least trying to replace those two hoses from the top and passenger side. Oh for hoses that are stuck on "like they are glued", take some pliers, grip the hose, and twist/spin it around the nipple.

Also I'm not a fan of the OEM clamps, I prefer the screw type, just don't over-tighten.
