ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Question about left door/window problem

    Hello,

I am the original owner of a 1991 Honda Accord EX Coupe (Two-Door). Right now it is sitting at a local auto shop because my window on the drivers side would only go up halfway. They first told me that they would need to order a part for the inside of the panel to the door. I thought he called it a strip or bar. But when I called today to see how things were going they told me that the part had been discontinued and they were having trouble finding it. They did get the window to close but it won't work without the part. He told me they weren't giving up and still checking around. Would anyone here know where I could purchase a part that they need? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Georgia

It's awesome that you are the original owner. If you have any junkyards in the area you could always source one there.

      Hi wildBill83,

Thank you for your response. Yes - I LOVE my Honda! I have had a few people who have wanted to buy it from me but I want to keep it. Unfortunately, I am finding it harder to find the parts when something goes. I did think of a junkyard also I am checking ebay. Would you know what the part is called?

Personally I would go and get the entire door from a parts car, but only one with the window all the way up. That way you know the window track is in good shape and then canabalize it for all of the window related parts.

Window track and window guides are typical failures on our cars, along with the window regulator. It sounds like your window regulator is fine for now though.

The problem parts could be item #2,3, or 4 in the diagram below.

The gears for the regulator can go bad. Does it make a loud grinding noise when you try to roll it up?

@PakaloloHonda, I believe it is called a window track or guide on the sedan/wagons. Check to see if the seal is the problem or the metal track. Below is a link to the window seal, it may fix your problem.

@Georgia, I just noticed you have a coupe. On the coupe the window tracks goes up the sides only and uses a retainer linked below, there are actually 2 seperate tracks:

Make sure this retainer and matching track are in good condition. You have to break the old brass one off to replace it with a new one.
