ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You want to replace every gasket in those kits. Use OEM gaskets for the manifold-to-head flange, where the downpipe meets the cat and where the cat meets the rest of the exhaust. For the ones further down the line you could visit a muffler shop or see if a parts store had better quality gaskets than the spongy ones included. Either way, copper gasket spray is great here.

Also, do not use the test pipes included. Use your factory catalytic converter or a new replacement. You will not gain performance from eliminating it. You'll just sound like a douche.

Finally, the header gasket between the upper and lower portion needs to be addressed. There is a commonly available Fel-Pro gasket made for a boxer-4 Subarus though I don't remember the exact part number. If I think to later ill search for it and put it in here, but I know I got the wrong one and had to modify it to work.

Most important of all, get a new muffler from a reputable company like Magnaflow or Vibrant. They have great sound and won't get incredibly noisy over time. Mufflers are pressed together and the more material and tighter you press the ends together the more solid it will be. The cheap mufflers just aren't constructed the same way.
    IIRC correctly it's a 98ish 2.5 Subaru Legacy gasket you're looking for. Part # MS95088

It will help, but as i a jarrett (He went into greater detail) said it will get louder over time due to crap packing inside the bumblebee tuna muffler. The only decent can style i have heard are HKS, Greddy, Apexi, and skunk.

In all honesty if you are after performance look into a cutout and cost is much cheaper this way performance wise, and when you don't need it you are as quite as stock. Or an exhaust shop should be decently priced atleast then you wouldn't need to buy that ebay setup for just the piping and header.

Installing the catalytic converter helps a tremendous amount. There's really no reason for it to be out in the first place.

What catalytic converter do you recommend? Should I stick with stainless so there isn't any conflicting metals?

The cheapest bolt on cat I have found is a magnaflow. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MagnaFlow-Ca...3a629f&vxp=mtr

I got a cheap ebay system that looks the exact same, only the names have changed. It with the test pipe and the silencer installed the best it was designed for, I incurred frequent headaches from going around 2k rpm windows down. I fixed the silencer in the muffler with quick-steel and it stopped very little rattlyness. Got a muffler shop to insert a hi-flow cat into the test pipe(cut out the middle weld cat in place) and it sounds better, but still rice, and still not what I wanted. I also had to relocate the o2 sensor, there was not enough room between headers and fan. Having a muffler shop custom build you a 2.5" cat-back would probably be cheaper and sound better. I think my friend 93se said he payed 350 for his, and it defiantly sounds better than mine.
Here's what I'm working with tell me what you think.
