ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Front Motor Mount (Torque Mount) Removal

My front motor mount broke and I am now currently in the process of replacing it, I was able to get the top bolt off but for some reason I can't get a wrench or anything down to the lower bolt. I've tried getting under my car, tried different kinds of wrenches and nothing will fit.

Can someone please tell me how to remove the lower bolt? Is there something special that I need to do? A tool I don't have?

Really long extension and 1/2" drive ratchet with 17MM (I believe) deep well socket. Work past all of the coolant lines.

pull the fan(s) right in front of it. Makes it a ton easier

I removed mine with a 1/2 breaker bar and pipe, well broke it free it was all air ratchet after that. 12pt socket will help a little.

Just make sure you're turning the correct side. one side is a welded nut

Most people struggle with that nut before realizing it. Honda should've rounded it off or something!

I also pulled my fan the first time I replaced mine. The added room is helpful... just be VERY careful not to put your fist through your radiator. Unfortunate damage to the radiator and the fist will result!

Ive seen now that alot of turbos dont even run them...kinda felt dumb when i seen that. I blieved it was an important part...i did notice in one thread someone used a bike shock in its place.

I still feel that its important, it does hold the engine in place. I would build a low profile mount if going turbo.

It is an important part (and you didn't "seen" anything... you "saw" it.)
Having no front mount puts considerable strain on the other 3 mounts. It doesn't hold the engine's weight (it's not a load-bearing mount), but it is still important to help keep the other 3 (that DO bear the weight) functioning properly. Turbo guys only remove it because the most common turbo manifolds won't fit with the mount installed.

Looks good man! I made one very similar with some Home Depot parts but it didnt do what i wanted so I have since removed it and just made the rear mount solid.

90CB7EURO- that is awesome what you put together, it's basically ESP's version but more DIY Where or what is that turn-buckle from?

I've always done it from the top by pulling the battery and tray and using just the right length extension to bypass the coolant hose and 5spd starter. I think in a pinch I got it out w/o removing the tray. I have always felt that honda should've put the bolt head on the other side, unthreading towards the header.
