ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    cb3 carburettor engine/mpfi swap?

Is it posible to do a mpfi swap on a cb3?
    like on a eg4/eg8 civic?

    Which parts do i need?

    #2
Yes, it is possible. You will need lots of parts, though. One of the New Zealand members did it to his car. For all of the little sensors and wire harnesses you'll practically need a fuel-injected parts car. It would be much easier just to buy a fuel-injected car from the start.

Jarret is referring to another NZ member but . . . .

I didn't actually do the changeover, I did a carbed turbo setup.
It really is more of a waste of time/money, than just buying an CB already PGM-FI.

Though there IS someone that did the Carb -> PGM-fi swap.
        His username is Dutchaccord.

Havn't seen him around for ALONG time though, so getting any specific information will be tricky.
Though If you have any questions, I can help seeing as I looked into it so far before I decided to buy another CB which was already PGM-FI.

The head intake ports are different so you will also need to replace that.
The dash wiring loom (and cluster) is different to accommodate the warning lights)
The fuel feed line is different diameter from the carb version, And you will need to add the fuel return line.
The fuel pump is different, as well as the plumbing.
The fuel filter (and fittings) are different.

Right now that's, all I can think Of, but there are more things.

I'm doing something kind of like this. It shouldn't be TOO hard. There's a lot of info on this kinda stuff on Preludepower. I'm going from auto to manual, OBD-0 to OBD-1, and CARB to FI. All in the same swap on a 3rd gen Prelude. Fun.

              http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=183954

This should give you an idea of what all is required for the swap. Good luck.

I understand The Mat very well, here in Europe is hard to find mint condition chassis CB`s( if that`s the case).

I have changed 3.gen Accord from carb.-> PGM-FI and it wasn`t so hard with common tools, good place and enough time.

Also i did change CB3 carb wiring harness, tank, fuel-lines and brakes etc, but not the engine ( i got CB7). it was my previous project, but the chassis was awful-> not worth fixing.

                Back to the point:

If you have mint chassis, skills, another car(where you can rip parts from), place to build and tools, i`d say go for it!

But if it has lots of corrosion, i`d get car that has PGM-FI already on it.

There was a few CB`s at Mobile.de last summer that i was ready to buy when i visited there. There is now few good looking cars.

                  hi there,

Yes i did the swap ages ago...
You need the under dash wiring of an PGM-FI accord, engine bay wiring and PGM-FI engine. Make sure the connectors of both harnesses match, there's a lot of tiny differences in between productionyrs.
Remove the dash completely, swap the harnesses and you'r set.
You also need to fab a fuel return line and swap in a walbro or stock FI pump.

All in all not too complicated but just very time consuming.

No projects at the moment... danm
