    Problems after timing belt break.

Ok so my timing belt broke which since the f22a1 is an interference motor i replace the valves, valve seals, headgasket, valvecover gasket and any other gasket i can think to replace from HG up. I got the engine back together but it feels like the engine is gona blow when i rev past 5000k. Blue smoke comes out of my exhaust as well. Piston rings?? should i go get a compression test?

a compresion test would be good thing to do . what color smoke is comeing out ? is the head tq to spec ?

It is likely your rings are worn.

There are timing marks for sure.

Did you do the work or some one else? Why not take it back to that person/shop?

I'll look for a diagram for timing marks so I can post it up.

No-one can begin to help you without first knowing the actual problem.

I did the work myself. and i lined all the marks up on cam gear, crank pully, both balance shafts. But i dont know how to use the timing light or anything else on my car. i heard about a blue jumper under the dash, what is that for?

                I just took this video.

                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGQo3VVs7zI

I did let off the gas so i can shift before 5k because when i go over 5k it pours blue smoke out of the exuast and i dont wana damage my engine anymore.

Should i check my pvc valve??

OK, this is what you'll need for checking and adjusting ignition timing.

PCV valve is cheap enough to just replace it if you were in doubt.

You may have it too retarded of timing, but you must double check everything you did.

                  Good luck.

Oh, I couln't see the vid.

that picture helps alot. i never even knew about that timing hole... i guess i need a timing light now. Before the timing belt broke my car had power and revved to 6k with ease and all the broken timing belt did was slightly bent #1 & #2 vavles. Thanks!

What condition were the pistons in? Chances are good that the pistons that made contact with valves were damaged. Scoring on the top of a piston could result in detonation in the combustion chamber... which will lead do serious internal damage.

Also, a very common issue when a timing belt is replaced is for the valve timing to be off by one belt tooth. That would essentially move your powerband, either way high in the RPM range, or as you're experiencing, very low in the range (with nothing up top.)
That would be the first thing I would check, in addition to the compression test (blue smoke is oil, so you are definitely burning oil somehow.)

My pistons looked untouched. There was no damage whatsoever. Cylinder walls also looked perfect. It not buning oil before the belt broke, so would wrong timing cause this?

And it does seem like im over revving when i go over 5k like all the torque is at about 3500k. The only time i see smoke is above 5k.

just play it safe and rebuild the engine . i say this because aftere that belt brakes it most of the time destroys a lot of parts .

I wouldn't think incorrect valve timing would result in burning oil, but I don't know for sure.
Perhaps one of the new seals was faulty, or improperly installed. OR, perhaps it's simply coincidence that it just started burning oil.
