ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If it's leaking oil, fix the leak. Replacing the engine really isn't a solution for a leak.
And as for the manual swap - You sound unsure if what your saying is even true.

If your engine is indeed rubbish, then look at replacing it.

      2) EVERYONE is going to have a different opinion.
I know people here that will say -

Boost your current motor as is.
      Build your current motor.
      Swap an H22.
      Swap an H23.
      Swap an F22B.
      Swap an F23.
      Swap an F20.
      Swap a K20.
      Swap a K24.
      Swap a V6.
Mix and match an F and H motor, then magically call it a G.
      Boost your Swap
      Build your Swap.

      ETC . . . .

YOU need to decide what you want and your goal of 200-250 really dictates your options, Along with the fact that you also said - Reliable and cheap.
      1. i can fix a leak but how do i fix it from burning oil, aside from a rebuild? and i'm very unsure about the manual swap. the car has a 5sp but the title says auto on it like 3 times... so i guess i haven't a clue. I don't think it's complete rubbish it runs out good and makes decent power, just goes through the oil, mostly burns it at idle and heavy acceleration, plus that old familiar honda smell when it gets up in the higher rpm's

Ultimately i have no idea what to do with this car, i love it and plan on keeping it for a very long time.

Mostly was looking for the opinions of an experienced swapper or rebuilder and what my best options would be on a tight budget, and there has been a lot of advice to me in this thread! So thanks guys!

Perform a leak down test this will point you toward the source of the oil consumption. It could be a sleeve, piston, or valve related issue, if it's valve related such as valve seals or a cracked valve. That's a pretty simple and relatively cheap fix compared to a rebuild or swap.

Agreed, Find the problem first then look into fixing it.
