ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    car turns but wont start

at noon i went to fill the fluids in my car and tried to start the car. all it did was start for not even a split second then just die. i tried to start it a few more times but nothing. i read another thread on this site that it could be the sparkplugs, wires, distributer, rotor or cap. i can likely get these at autozone. the jy is out of the question. i have a repair manual but i would like your guys input on how to romove the dizzy, wires and plugs.

one last question, does the cooling system have any affect on the igniton system. on a video of eric the car guy he said ppl had problems with their idle fluctuating and the first question he would ask" is hows your coolant level"?last night when i came to stops the cars revs got super low as if it was dying and my headlights and the dash lights started dimming. then i check the fluid level it was super low. can air in the coolant system create this problem.
    thanks in advance guys.

    Check your main relay first.

Air in the coolant wont create a low idle.

see if autozone can test the alternator, and starting system. they have to test the battery first and if thats good then it goes on to the start test and then shows the volts for the alternator. you said lights went dim so that makes me think of the charging system.

the dizzs is easily removed by the three bolts attached to the head.

but first and formost try that main relay.

I had this issues on my car and it ended up being my ignition control module. The O-Ring in my distributor is bad so I have oil getting in there and it messed up the module. Don't know if this helps at all

thanks for all the ideas guys. im not to familiar with taking things apart on my car yet but what i did do was switch out the spark plugs and now it starts right up. the last spark plugs showed signs of burning oil. so i figure the oil was making a weak or no spark at all.

ill look into the main relay thanks a bunch for that diy. and ill look into the charging system but now that i think of the dimming lights, im starting to think the lights dimmed because the engine went as low as 200 rpms so im guessing the alternator wasnt doing to much work. before i start my engine the lights are slightly dimmer as compared to when i have the car running. if that made sense.

          thanks alot
