ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Gas leak

Okay I'm back again with another question. After I finished my exhaust install I looked under the car and noticed that there was a gas leak. I have smelled gas since I purchased the car, but there was never a leak. Apparently this is common for the Accords. The leak is located in the back on the drivers side at the fitting coming from the fuel pump. I need to know the best repair solution for this problem. This car is killing me this week. My brakes sprung a leak and I repaired that Friday as well as dropped my old exhaust. Today I hung the new exhaust, and now the leak. Please help I want to enjoy the rest of my weekend. Thanks, dc

I cannot really help you but I was wondering if you could show a picture of the leak area?
    Thanks.

Here are the pictures. You can see the rusted through fuel line is off the main feeder line.

        Replace the line!

I had my high pressure line rust through on a road trip... That was a really expensive trip to a shop...

Thanks. This is the area by the rear driver's side right? I cannot really tell, but did you have to remove any thing to expose it for those pictures?

Replace the line do not drive it anywhere it's a hazard. It should come off with two 10mm bolts and a banjo flange.

Yes, driver's side. There is a plastic cover over the exposed area. It is held in place by 2 bolts and 2 Phillips head clips. The local parts stores were out of the proper fuel line so I improvised and used a hose with fuel line clamps. I cut the banjo connectin off in order to make it work. No leaks and everything is working great.

Have you checked your gas mileage before and after the fix? Also would be interesting to see the numbers before and after exhaust!

i'd keep an eye on that, a lot of times a custom fuel line can give you issues. i'd check it every other day and especially before any extended driving. after a few months i'd probably relax

i ended up having to replace a custom fuel line like that on a car in HS, in a storm on the side of the road on a saturday. ruined my weekend.
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

I was getting about 30mpg with the stock exhaust an I guess a minor gas leak. It will be a little while before I report back with a new mpg rating. My job is 46 mile one way from me and this car has helped a lot with gas savings.

I will keep an eye on it. I was smelling gas before, so that will be a good indicator.

Well I filled the tank on Sunday and I have driven it 241 miles and it is still over half tank. I hope to get 500 on a tank of gas, which would be fantastic!!! Looks like everything is working great. I will report next week with the mpg breakdown.
