ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    Gear or Clutch problem.

Hey I was driving home last night and my clutch seems to have broken. It just went out . I couldnt even rev match to "power" shift the gears. What the crap. !

I can turn the car on in "1st" gear and the car acts like its in neutral.

Im hoping that maybe just maybe it just needs an adjustment or something like that. Any ideas or clues?

do you guys think its hydraulic?

Press the clutch pedal while someone is looking at your slave cylinder. If the slave moves fully, it's not hydraulic.

I'm afraid you're going to have to drop the transmission to fully diagnose the problem. Not very difficult, but it's a pain in the ass.

Have you inspected the cable ? I have had a cable break and it had the same effect.

That's true. That would be a much easier fix, for sure!

Pull the cables off at the transmission and yank on the end. If the cable snapped within the sheath, you'll pull that end right out.

Have you looked at your axles? if one pops out the car will act just like you're describing, it's worth a shot.

everything taken with a grain of salt! I wont rule anything out. No one is here to help(at my house) but Im doing as much reading as possible, I have an ALLDATA for the car also.

I was going then shifted to 5th and just like that it felt like the clutch was slipping really bad but in reality I wasnt in 5th gear anymore! It felt like I was in neutral.

I was "trucker" shifting for a little bit but that went kaput on me too. :/

              1million thanks fellas.

Were you driving the car when the cable broke?

hmm . I hope its this and not something more involved. I just wasnt expecting it to crap out on me one week PRIOR to the exact plan and date I was expecting to complete multiple repairs. CB3VU DO smh its always something when driving a junk!

I have not taken the tires off yet, this car is just a a POS when it doesnt move/start when instructed/implied. I just sit back and look at this worthless scrap of metal. Too bad I've spent enough time and money otherwise it would be gone! So Seriously .

I hope its easier to take the entire assembly out; NOT APART ! ; trans and motor instead of a piece cause I really need access to another part of the car with the engine out. :L AND THATS A BIG STINKY DOGGY PRESENT WAITING TO BE STEPPED IN @@

Taking the engine and trans out together is simpler if you've never done it separate before, i've always had great luck just taking which ever needed work out, and leaving the other be it trans or engine in place. That was until I got around to putting mine back together the tq converter is much beefer than a clutch assembly for a Honda, so I had to do it as one assembly on the auto I couldn't make any leeway by trying to do it seperate on my first auto Honda.

I know your pain mine has been nothing but a money pit not even including my mildly built f22. After wrestling with getting the engine and trans in for 4 hours I started bolting/tightening everything up and the bellhousing cracked and took the shifter cable with it both are pretty pricey, but thanks to jarrett I'm giving mine one last chance.

Point is shit happens even when you've done it 15+ times before like I have something is bound to throw you for a loop. To add these car's aren't exactly spring chickens either eventually things will break.

^Oh I see what your saying then. Thats how I was planning on doing this but now I have a great little obstacle .

                          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8i5aIn4YcU

I dont think that my cable is busted the shifter actually did feel really limp come to think about it.

                          ****EDIT****

HOWEVER! I did "manually" put it into gear with out using the shifter; just those (two)rod deals the move when you shift gears. I tried turning it on after that to see if maybe it "caught" one of the gears and NOTHING.

You say synchros like they're no big deal. That's basically a full transmission rebuild there, bud.
