Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Tcu help... Again...

    Hey everyone,
    This may be a dumb question but I am running out of options. My tcu is broke there are two capacitors and one resistor that isn't even on the board because I took them off to replace and can't find replacement parts that I can get by Saturday. I need to drive to work or I'll be fired(not an option). Is it possible to drive my car without the tcu in it? Like can I manually shift it or?... I seriously need help

    The transmission isn't capable of being controlled by shifting manually. The shift lever isn't directly connected to the transmission. Essentially, the lever just tells the TCU where to shift the transmission.

    I would look for a replacement TCU ASAP, or start begging someone to give you a ride, or let you borrow their car. Otherwise, break out the Huffy. I hope you don't deliver pizza!

      For the capacitors, they don't have to be exact match. The ratings could be a little higher. Probably better if they are higher any way. Watch the uF and the voltages. The voltages must be higher. As for the resistor, it must be an exact match.

            15 Ohm resistor, and replace the caps with like values with same voltage and a little higher uF rating. Check radioshack, they may have what you need. I just replaced a good chunk of my TCU with radioshack components, also get a space TCU incase a shorted solenoid caused the last failure, it will happen again if that is the case.

            Even a bad TCU will put you in limp mode (1st and 3rd manual shifting) and is better than no TCU = no running car.
