ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

You can but there won't be any benefit in doing so unless your sole purpose was to delete the EGR without getting a code. The only time that installing a chipped ECU into your car is beneficial is if you have significant modifications done that the factory tune no longer supports. It sounds like you're wanting to run the factory tune on a non-factory car. Unless you give us more details as to what you're trying to accomplish then everyone is going to be a little unclear as to how to help you.

Do you know how to program an ECU? If not, you might want to learn how to do that first. There's little to gain from a programmable ECU until you have extensive mods (an upgraded camshaft is the minimum... all other "bolt on" mods will benefit little from a tune.)

You can do serious damage to your car with a modified ECU if you don't know what you're doing, or if you're running a map that isn't intended for your specific engine (though it's difficult to damage a stock-ish F22A, really... a tough engine with a low compression ratio gives a wide margin of error)

Not trying to jack your thread..... But what ecu do I need for a 91 ex sedan stock Auto motor, I believe it's 6 cylinder ?

I've been having all types of issues with my cb from fuel pump to needing new battery, checked main relay, car Turing off while driving, or stalling out when I come to a complete stop and then it not starting up again until car gets cold. So my mechanic says I need a new ecu just not sure witch one I need for my car.

              Thanks in advance

Your engine is not a 6-cylinder. It's a 4-cylinder. F22A4 to be exact. It uses a PT3 ECU and they're specific to manual or automatic cars.

blowme123, your question has NOTHING to do with the topic of this thread (which is programmable ECUs.) If you ever have to begin a post with "not trying to jack your thread, but..." just STOP. You're doing EXACTLY that, and you damn well know it!

A failing ECU is rarely cause for stalling. Usually, if the ECU dies, the car simply will not run. At all.

And if you think your car is a 6 cylinder... perhaps you should just stick to handing it over to a mechanic and paying him to do whatever work you need done.
