ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

[QUOTE=h22sparkle;3033466]Well I would check to make sure you have enough oil. Then I would double check the oil pressure sending unit. Oh and almost forgot me and CP mike had this discussion before along with busted lx years back and eric when he boostes his f22 what kind of oil filter are you using because lol Some oil filters like fram dont hold down pressure efficiently which can trigger that. Check your car for any leaks too.[/QUOT

car has lil more oil than what it needs so oil its not a issue and i do have a fram filter but i dont think it coul b the problem i got a KMS oil pump its supposed to be better than oem with better oil flow i dont know whats i also check the oil pick up and it looks good soo i dont noo i feel so discouraged

Get a oil pressure gauge and go from there. I took the chance of what was a bad sending unit went to get a oil pressure gauge and locked my b1 build up in the parking lot so it was a bad pump aswell as the sending unit.

I'd say engine is worn out that oil pressure is not building up even with "new oil pump" installed.

Im having the exact same problem as you. I made another post. But ill put in my two sense here. Car starts, everything is good. Start driving, as the temp needle is reading right above the line for cold, vtec will engage. It will keep on engaging everytine I try to hit vtec. But once the engine has reached normal operating temperature, it will stop engaging. If i park it, let it cool down for like 2 hours with the engine still slightly warm. Vtec will engage but will die out again.

I have a check engine light, which is my egr valve. I have yet to replace it, but it never stopped my vtec from engaging.

What i am going to do first, the oil sending unit looks like its sweating, so i am going to replace or fix that, it could be a broken hose or something.

Oil pan has had a huge dent in it. Never bothered vtec from engaging but still would like to replace it.

              Oil pan gasket needs replacing.

Lastly... Ill probably do this first before i check into the oil sending unit. Which is the solenoid screen. If i recall, vtec stopped engaging shortly after i seafoamed the car - 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the gas, 1/3 in the intake vaccume line. So i am suspecting the screen may be clogged. But im eliminating problems one by one. Ill let u know what happens.

To get the color code of your factory bearings you need to decode your block (Sometimes its stamped on the bottom deck or the crank counter weights). But if you've got excessive bearing wear chances are you have crank journal damage and wear. So pull your rod caps (Don't get the caps or rods missed matched while doing so) and check the damage, you can't just slap bearings in without measuring clearances first this is why we have bearing color code's which are different thickness.

                        Seriously?
Your problem is "Low oil pressure" as indicative of the oil light and code 22.

How do you even know that the pressure IS low, and how low?

You havn't put a pressure gauge on, you want to replace the bearings without even looking at them first, someone told you your filter could be bad yet you totally disreguarded it.

I think you should let a mechanic fix it.

At this point it's machine shop time. Let's assume that the correct way to diagnose these issues didn't include any of these other things others have suggested. If you have bearing wear then you will need to pull the crank out and have the journals remachined. I'm sorry that you don't see it that way because of what your car means to you as a mode of transportation. But that doesn't mean that damage isn't done.

Colors is the only way to tell on the bearings as far as i know. I think green is most common if i remember correctly but not 100 percent sure.
