ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

15x7 +38 off set enkei rims???

i just bought a set of 4 15x7 +38 off set enkei 92 rims for my cb7.. my question is when i put these rims on with say p205 55 or 60 by 15 tires will i have spacing issues like rubbing in the wheel well or rubbing on my uper ball joint/ other suspension components? will i need spacers? if so will i need to give it some negative camber? i im just sick of chewing throu tires with out my camber kit on because if i do have o give it negative camber i will just chew throu more tires... info is very much appreciated!

Negative camber doesnt kill your tires its your toe. I had like -6.8 and had those tires for about 10 months before I got a diffrent set of rims.

my main question is can i get away with my tires NOT rubbing on the upper ball joint like i am having now(my car is lowered with no camber kit but i have the camber kit i am going to put in before i get the rims n tires on) so basically, with these rims on plus tires, plus a camber kit having my front wheels 90 degrees straight up and down, will it rub on the upper ball joint? if not the upper ball joint will it rub at all like the wheel well?

When will people stop saying this? That is like saying "heroin doesn't kill drug addicts, cocaine does!"
Toe will cause more drastic wear, yes... but negative camber WILL wear the inside edges of the tires.

OP, stock tire size is 195/60/15. If that doesn't rub, what makes you think slightly larger tires will?
That will fit just fine. I would go with a 55 aspect ratio over the 60 for a little less tire squirm.

This entire hellaflush movement creates a lot of misinformation. Before that shit, negative camber and spacers and shit was never an issue. Now you got people wondering if they need that bullshit (negative camber, spacers) when they have rims and tires that fit the car correctly from the beginning...

Thats a good fitament for your car, +38. You shouldn't have any issues with it unless you are dropped on your nuts, in which case you might have other issues. I've had 17's on my shit, camber corrected to damn near zero and never had any problems with rubbing.

+38 to +42 is generally regarded as "correct" for our cars when it comes to aftermarket wheels. Anything with a normal tire size on any wheel in that offset range should fit just fine. The only thing you MIGHT rub (and probably not) would be the plastic splash guard in the fender.

There's so much misinformation floating around about wheel and tire size/fitment these days, it's amazing anyone can find a correct answer! I agree, the whole hellaflush/stanced movement has made it nearly impossible to learn how to do things the right (safe) way!

kk thanks for the info guys... the only thing my car IS lowered, not much just 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear... now the camber in the front is pretty crazy, like i said the front tires are angled in so much from the lowering springs that the inside wall of the tire rubs on the upper ball joint and chews the tire to hell... but I DO have a camber kit to fix this.. now when my camber kit is put in will i be able to corecct this rubbing by pushing the camber out WITH the 15x7 +38 off set rims and tires on WITH OUT rubbing on the upper ball joint or wheel wells while making a turn???
thanx so much any info helps!!!

Most aftermarket wheels are 7" wide or more. That means most of the aftermarket wheels used on cars on this forum are that wide, or wider.

I had a set of 17" wheels, 7" wide, +38 offset. 205/40/17 tires (roughly the same as 205/55/15 will be for you). I only rubbed the inner fender lining when turning at full lock when lowered just as far as you are.

You will NEVER hit the upper ball joint, unless you are making contact when the car is sitting still. The hub and ball joint are fixed, and move relative to each other.

so the reason why my stock exr rims would be rubbing my upper ball joints is because of the stock off set on the rims and the camber due to my car being lowered? if so, with my camber kit installed and my wheels sitting straight at 90 degrees there should be none of these issues?

This is the exact setup I had, except mine was lowered a lot more (Sprint Extremes 3.25") and still had no rubbing issues or very minimal at most so 15x7's should be fine.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Like Deev said, the upper ball joint is stationary in relation to the wheel and moves with it... Your tires shouldn't be coming in contact with the upper ball joint at all. On top of that your scenario isn't really possible being that the inside wall of your tires are not on the same side as the upper balljoint. I'm not sure what is rubbing but it isn't that.

Basically bro, you have a decent setup with the correct rims and tires with good offset and a decent lowering job. Once your camber kit is installed and you GET AN ALIGNMENT so the camber and tow and caster and whatnot can be set correctly then yes, your issues should be resolved.

this is what i mean.. when the car is put on the ground and all the weight is on the tires the tire gets pushed in at the top and rubbs the ball joint as it spins..

except this guy owns a jeep and his is ALMOST hitting and im assuming it dose rub with weight on it.
like would EXTREME camber cause this and would my ingals camber kit/adjustable balljoints fix this????

If you're hitting your ball joints with stock wheels, something is wrong with your car.
