ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    engine temp drops under load?

Noticed while driving today that my engine temps drop under acceleration from a dead stop or giving it more foot on the highway. Could this be bad?? Anything I should look out for or start looking into? The sooner I can address the little issues the soon I can out my turbo setup on.

When you accelerate, more air is passing through the radiator, cooling it faster.
Also, your water pump is mechanically driven, so it pumps faster as the engine turns faster.

Check your coolant level. Mine was doing the same until I topped it off.

The cooling system is a closed system... so if the coolant level is low, that means you are burning or leaking. Either one is indicative of a problem that will only get worse in time. Best to fix it before it causes damage, if that's the case.

To a point, the cooler the better.
But if it's abnormal, it could be indicating a more serious problem.

Like, if you're getting amazing gas mileage, that's good, right? Unless it means you're running dangerously lean, which will fry your internals pretty quick.

I had this issue after replacing heater hoses, thermostat.
with about 10k on the new water pump.

turns out it was abad headgasket.
was real weird because it would cool under load.
but still with everything replaced had issues.

                this was my scenario tho.

No over heating. new timing belt and water pump maybe 2k ago. Haven't done a compression test or anything. It doesn't seem to effect anything. I'm stuck at work till 7am so I'll check coolant levels then.

No, the engine is designed to run at a certain temperature. Unless you've done some serious mods and know what you're doing you want to keep it at the proper temperature.
