ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Gas Gauge Is Broken?

With my brother, who has a 91 EX AUTO and we start up the car and its this, could a fuse may have blown?

Where is the gauge needle sitting? I would check the sensor in the tank first, if that checks out, its probably the cluster.

and its this = huh? how is it broken? is it not going up?

If you want to know whether a fuse has blown, Look at them.

But I wouldn't think this is fuse related.

Oh ok, so it's just not moving anywhere.
That could be a fuse, did you check it? Accord-ing to that diagram its fuse C18 right?

You can test the sender. If you open the trunk and look under the carpet, and cardboard, there is a metal cover, that is where the sender and pump is located. First check to see if the plug is connected.

There is a test but I can't find my service manual right now. If you have one look for the test.

I would be more worried about the water temp then my fuel. On my car my water temp is only a quarter the way.

I'm curious about this as well. My gas needle always shows my tank being full. Have just been relying on the trip odometer to know when to fill up.

Sounds like you don't have a thermostat, or its stuck open. When the cars warmed up, it should be right in the middle of the gauge.

Have you checked the fuse yet?

If it's not that, you can test the sender unit with a multimeter (Ohms).
Another member said it was under the trunk carpet. Makes sense..

After you test it we can go from there.

If you're not sure how to do the test, just google it. There's plenty.

I've never done it myself, but i'll have a look after work.

If it was stuck open or not there then it would read a lot cooler than what's showing.

JFLEMING95: Your car may not be overheating but if the gauge is faulty or inaccurate then I would suggest getting that fixed asap. You would really like to know if you actually do start to overheat.

Remember, like the gauges in a hospital, automotive gauges show you the car's vital signs. The information they provide you can help in the prevention of something bad from happening.
