Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    H22a Cel Problems

    Hello everyone, i have a 92 accord ex MT, ive always wanted to do the H22A swap but just couldnt afford it, i recently ran into a 92 accord lx with a H22A in it, the person i bought it off of was a older gentlemen who didnt know what he had obviously, but long story short, the motor is legit, he has all the reciepts from when he purchased it, i want to put it in my car because the LX looks like crap. SO NOW TO THE PROBLEM LOL!! for me to start it i have to try like 7 times then itll start, within these couple tries itll start but just die then try till it starts. the car has 6 codes: THEY ARE 3- MAP SENSOR, 6- WATER TEMP SENSOR, 7 - TPS SENSOR, 12- EGR VALVE, 20- ELECTRICAL LOAD DETECTOR, 21- VTEC SPOOL SOLENOID VALVE. Now once the car warms up it runs perfect other then the vtec not engaging.
    ITS A H22A, it has a P13 in it, i believe its USDM because the code is like KC, KA MT and it has the f22 tranny. any help would be appreciated in what route should i go. should i swap it then worry about everything or fix it while i know it runs and then swap it. again first time doing this swap and yes ive searched the threads...also GOOGLE LOL

    the vtec not engaging could be due to the codes. the ecu is likely in limp mode and vtec wont work in limp mode.
    either all those parts are bad or more likely the person that did the swap screwed up the wiring. inspect the wiring for all those parts. if the wiring looks legit then test or replace the parts. a few of the parts can be used from your old car. just use the good parts from your good car to see if it fixes the problem then just put them back and buy new.

      Have you removed any covers to determine that the engine is physically in good shape before you start throwing money in into it? Check for sludge under the valve cover primarily. This is likely not related to your condition but just a precautionary procedure since you bought a non-running car.

        im going to try this weekend since its been raining all week over here, i have to do the work outside unfortunately, which of those sensors are interchangable with my f22? also JARRET, i was able to drive the car home when i bought it, it was only like 4 miles from my house but, the motor doesnt leak oil, not even burning oil either, its not knocking only when its cold that i have issues with it. im hoping it was the wiring, maybe they wired it incorrectly, but ill find out this weekend, ive been reading and it says i can use my factory harness and just run 4 extra wires for the vtec...etc..hopefully i can figure it out

          eld code im pretty sure means somethings arching out ...look into your wiring and plugs and such for those sensors ..

            i hope its just bad wiring, ive been looking online about the ELD and it shows that its in the main fuse box but i dont think my car has that

              on my 98 civic i got a eld code among others and the car ran like shit..turned out to be a wire that rubbed against im bracket causing it to short out...found it , taped it, cleared codes and she was good ..

                im definately gonna be precise with the wiring, sounds like that could be the culprit, i plan on doing the swap this sunday, anything else i should look into while doing this swap?
