ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    92 lx bought with a pt6

Just bought a 92 lx from Florida. Rare conisidering I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada. I bought the p12 thinking I could get a little bit of umph with little cash.... My problem is that when I pulled back my carpet there was a pt6 mounted in. The car works beautiful right now, but when I swapped in the p12 it wouldn't even start. I would not be surprised if the ecu was messed up. Got it from an unreputibale source... How can I tell if the previous owner did the a6 cam swap?

Pull the distributor and look at the end of the cam for a 3A or 4B. 4B is the A6 cam.

If it won't start with the P12, but runs fine with the PT6, then it is definitely the ECU.

If you have an F22A6 intake manifold (or H23) and an F22A6 camshaft (not 100% necessary) then the PT6 is the ECU you want to use. If not, then an proper P12 will be good. It sounds like yours is dead, though.

An F22A1 without the F22A6 parts added won't run properly on a PT6. My friend did it, and noticed that the car was noticeably faster with the PT3.

With my SE, once the f22a6 blew up.. I had a f22a1 installed with the intake manifold and everything swapped over. Only thing that wasn't swapped over was the Cam. Although the car ran fine, it just didn't have the power the previous motor had. The shop already got rid of my motor the day after they installed the new one. Damn Cam.

Thanks for the help. When I replace the rocker cover gasket, I`ll replace the dizzy too and check the number on the cam.
