ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    A/c whine

So I'm curious what this is ... Got my a/c swapped up to 134a as far as I can tell they didn't do alot other than the adapter kit but it blows cold as 40f ever since I got it done I've had a whine sound when I start the car with the a/c button pressed and the a out of the blue one tonight was I was idling for a bit and put the car in drive with no a/c no blower and it suddenly started the whine il try to record it but it only last 15 /30 seconds if that any ideas

Are you sure it's not your serpentine belts? With the AC button on, the AC compressor will engage when start and put stress on the belt. If it's old and slipping, it might whine.

Pretty sure it's not the belts no sounds under load while running the a/c it's just the start ups and the time tonight il get my deflection tool and check them though. Funny thing is it did it with no compressor load tonight all other instances make sence to a slipping belt

I wonder if those guys that did your retrofit added oil also. Since they put in 134a and our cars came with R12 from the factory, you might want to ask them if they added any ester based oil. Another thing is if they used PAG oil while there was ester oil in there, it's going to gum up everything in your system.

Is the whining coming from underneath the hood? or is it when its blowing that you hear it inside the car? if its heard inside the car then your expansion valve is the problem

I think it's no 2, going to the mechanic to check ... He said no leaks the day I got it charged I'm gonna have him check for leaks it's inside like if the blower wasn't working right and I toggled the a/c on and off and it whined then nothing then whined every time I bet that valve is bad ... Atleast I'm still getting cold air I just don't know if it's a get it done ASAP thing or not does having a bad valve have any worse problems than just the sound ?

okay im confused .... tried losinging and tightening the serpintine belt and no luck , then it seemed to come from my fans area where the high pressure freon is so i jumped my fans at the thermo and they both ran fine its not in the car from what i can tell, its short 5 to 10 second sperts the longest was 20s not sure about the expansion valve becouse that would give me no cold air at all which im able to drive around cold air all day so i cant figure it out
