ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    A/C high and low side

I have searched everywhere including my chiltions, all data, google, and this site and i cant figure which port is the low side of my ac system. There is a port next to the rad on the top side. There is also a port next to the compressor with a redish cap.

When i charge the system its the low side i connect to right?

Is your system converted to R134a?

Low side is the line that comes from cabin and goes directly to compressor. Usually, this line has blue cap. High side is usually with red cap.

Service manifold/gauge fits only one way since the two lines have different size taps, anyways.

I'm curious about using ES12 myself, too.

Are you using a gauge set for R12? Does your system have R12 still?

it still has r12 and according to Enviro Safe i can just drop in the r12a and it will work. I ordered the master recharge kit and it comes with 2 cans of 12a, 1 can of stop leak, 1 fitting, and a hose. no gauges. On our cars there is a sight glass on the top of the cooler/dryer that will go clear once it is up to pressure.

When I got my LX, it had R134a conversion done already. The dryer didn't have sight glass already. Recently I've done re-charge of the system along with new dryer installation. This new dryer does not have sight glass either.

If I was to use ES12, I'd have to use gauge set to charge properly.

I read it some place that you don't want wait till sight glass is all clear when you are charging the system with ES12, IIRC.

high pressure side is most often a small tube where low pressure is a larger tube. just another way to distinguish. If the system runs, the low side will also be cold.
