ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

need help locating main relay, please chime in (ive searched)

i pulled what i think is the main relay and, after some google searching, found this link, http://www.hondapartsnow.com/electri...box~relay.html

and the relay i pulled is rc-2223, and it seems to be in the location where ive read the main relay is, but on the list of the link i posted, it says the main relay is rz-0088.

i'm very frustrated, i just put in a new (used) ecu, a new windshield ($170) and 20 dollars of new gas after draining the tank, and it wont start, i havent checked the codes yet, because the reason i pulled what i think is the main relay is in the past , when it ran, sometimes i would have to pound on the left side dash above the left vent, to get it to start (i read about that working, years ago) , so now i just called autozone and they said a new main relay is $52 : pullinghairout : thanks for any help in advance

the main relay isn't in the the fuse box. its underneath the left side of your dash(thats why hitting that area occassionally works). you'll need to grab a light and look under your dash for your cruise control unit (the silver box)

remove the bolts and slide it out of the way and you'll find your main relay, attached to a bracket

      detailed instructions here

hope that helps, honda did a great job hiding that thing.

Undoing the clip that holds the plug in can be tricky as well. Be sure not to yank too hard on the wires.

ok, i got it out, and yes it was a bitch to get it out, especialy finding the second nut holding it to the bracket, so now, does anyone know of a way to test the relay? i've read jumping pins 5 and 7 in the connector will turn on the fuel pump, but i don't know which ones on the relay to put + and - 12v to to test 5 and 7's continuity

ok, i found some helpful links in case anyone comes across this and is having trouble with either the main relay, or fuel pump etc.

            http://techautorepairs.com/images/mainrelay2.gif

            http://techauto.awardspace.com/legendmainrelay.html

this one (above) shows which terminals to put 12 volts to, and which ones to check for continuity, (even though the link says legend, its for accords too)
