ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Pissed, sudden oil leak.

So i was at a red light and a homeless guy walking across the street says your leaking a bunch of oil. so i hit my ebrake jump out and sure enough there is a huge pile of oil there.

i park the car and check my oil level and there is nothing. the leak is on the drivers side of the engine. no clue exactly where yet. hoping its just a hose. if not then i guess H22A is going in sooner then expected.

just had to share my rant. =(

If it happened that fast I would guess balance shaft seal. Sounds like a bad deal man, good luck.

I actually had my valve cover gasket not seal properly and oil literally pissed out and down the back of the engine.

yea and no oil behind my car. i didnt hear anything pop or break. and there was a lot of oil on that floor. a puddle of it.

how expensive would the repair be on it?

        edit:

mike mines hit everything literally. it got thrown all under my car. like the entire bottom of my car is covered in oil.

Depends on what it is. If its the balance shaft seal, they are like $8. Pull off your upper timing cover and you can see if its the seal. Look here:

ill check that out tomorrow its too dark right now.

the area where most of the oil was is on that pipe to the left of your finger. so it might be the balance shaft seal.

im just worried because i ran it for about 2 blocks after the leak to the nearest gas station.

Damn man, I hope your car is ok. Go look behind the crank pulley, and the very bottom of the lower timing cover. Is there oil dropping from there?

the oil splattered everywhere from it hitting the belts. so its hard to say where it originated. its dark outside so that does not help. its all going apart friday or tomorrow. until then i guess i better break out the walking shoes.

He specifically said in the first post he checked his pull and it was empty. I know 3+ quarts will show on the dipstick. His light could be out, the cord to the sensor could be broken, yada yada..

light came on after the 2 blocks. and for those 2 blocks i was not dripping oil at all. the dip shows less then a pinky nail. way less.

Yeah, just pull the upper timing cover tomorrow and you can see the valve cover gasket, cam seal, balance shaft seal. Those are the most likely culprits.
