ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Wiring harness question

I have a 93 EX sedan with an F23 Vtec converted to obd1 running off a poa ecu from a cd5 Accord. The previous owner swapped it, and it's verrrry messy. Wires exposed here and there, connectors broken and wired up the old fashioned way, etc. In his defense, it was his daily and he just threw it together, and it's been reliable for me as a daily for nearly a year now.

On to my problem (if it'll be one). I'm wanting to do the H22 swap. Will I need any of this nightmarish wiring that's in my car now? I'll be getting the ecu and harness with this http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/hond...nly-92-95.html

I'm an idiot on wiring. Is the harness one big thing with all the connectors, or will I need to fix all of them?

I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm just trying to get everything in order bit by bit, and in great detail. The sticky I found in the swaps section was very helpful, I just need this cleared up.

Honestly, most of the wiring done for the F23A1 will be good for the H22A. If it's a mess, I'd just go through and clean it up. Replace any wires that are in bad shape, redo any splices that are poorly done...

I would stay away from that company for the H22, though. I STRONGLY suggest going to www.hmotorsonline.com. Much more reliable, though not as cheap. Better to pay a bit more for a good engine, than a cheap price for one that shows up with a hole in the block! A lot of these Canadian-based engine resellers like to sell garbage to US buyers for stupid cheap prices. When the buyer gets a turd of a motor, they have no recourse. All they can do is bash the company on the internet, and nobody cares when the price is that low! Attempting any sort of legal action to recover the lost money is pointless, because an international lawsuit is far too expensive to bother.

I've seen MANY people on this forum alone get ripped off by numerous Canadian-based companies. If you're from the US, buy from a US-based company... at least then you'll have some options if they screw you (and hmotors won't screw you... my H22 is a testament to their quality... since 2003.)

Wow, thank you for that bit of info. I'm definitely buying from the company you linked me to. I was just going to get the engine since I have an m2s4 tranny, but with the price I see now I'll get the h22 lsd tranny as well. I didn't see anything about sensors on tiger japanese's site, and any that were useable on my f23 i wouldn't trust much longer anyway. Just going over it in my head, I don't think I'll spend much more than I had planned in the long run going this route. Thank you again, good sir.

The stock LSD tranny is a good choice as well. I regret not paying the extra $300 for it when I got my swap, honestly! Even a cheap OBX LSD (which is a knockoff of the Quaife design for almost half the price... and still decent) is $450 or so, and installation isn't cheap if you can't do it yourself. LSD makes quite a difference.
