ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    h22 head replacement parts list

So im doing a h22 head swap(on a h22), and need to know everything i will need as far as gasket's and what not to do this
-im taking all the sensors and intake manifold off my old head and putting it on new one
-intake manifold gasket to intake/head(got the bisi one)
    -head gasket
-timing belt(water pump has less than 3k on it)
    -arp head studs
-need to get valve cover set

i basically just want to know if i am missing anything before i do this
the head has been re-built and thoroughly cleaned, is there a specific oil i should use to break in? or anything i need to do?

You sound like you have a fairly good idea of the process. I'd use a blow gun and clean the threads out where the head bolts are. Those studs are so hard that if grime or grit gets in the way it'll chew up that aluminum. But you seem to know that you should clean everything profusely so you should be good. Keep checking to see that everything is at TDC all the time.

Harbor Freight has a pack of 6 wire brushes in varying sizes and stiffnesses for under $2 that would help in cleaning the engine before you put it back in.

And I might change the thread title later so noobs don't get ideas about putting H22A heads on their F22A blocks. Good luck!

the motor isnt coming out, just the head is coming off, and you can change the title if you wish, i couldn't think of anything better.
but is there any parts that i am missing? anything else i should do?

I have used 2 of these kits with no issues. All the gaskets and seals seem to be as good as oem.

Since the intake manifold will be off it would be worthwhile to replace the fuel filter also.

Not if you leave your IACV, FITV and air boost valve attached to the plenum and throttle body. Replacing the thermostat might be beneficial also.

I replace exhaust mani gasket every single time I take it off.

                        I would replace it.

Just because it's a metal gasket doesn't make it impervious to failure. It's an MLS crush-style gasket and will fail eventually. This process is sped up when it is removed often.

The ridges on the mls gaskets are what seal. They crush and seal. Onece they have ben crushed they can not be taken off and reused.well it can but it wont work 100% like a new one.
