ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    02 sensor issue.

Okay, so i replaced my 02 sensor with an ngk sensor. The guy that previosly owned this car had cut off both connecters. One from wiring harness on car and one from 02 sensor and reversed them for some reason. After fixing it back to normal my cel came off but only for a little while. If i turn my car off and back on it will take about 20 minutes than the cel will come back on Just like clock work. Why is this happening?

The ECU doesn't use o2 sensor feedback while the engine is warming up. That's why it feels like it's working correctly. It's not being used at all!

It's possible that the sensor you got is faulty... but it's more likely that the splicing done by the previous owner (and now by you out of necessity) has caused a change in resistance in the wires, causing the o2 sensor's signal to be read incorrectly.

What wires did you used? Did you get the wires from the OEM junk yard with the connector on it? That is the best. Did you test the resistant on the O2 sensor to see if it is defective?

Okay. So how could i fix that? because those wires i believe just run straight into the engine wiring harness.

I pulled the 02 sensor from the jy and it had the conector on it. so i left that. Since the previous owner had them reversed i used the one he had conected to the 02 sensor and rewired the to the car harness returning it to oem. I didnt use and other wire that was never on the car before.

Did you follow the link I gave you to test your O2 sensor, the wiring in between and your ECU? That's a good DIY steps to narrow things down to the bone, sorta.
