ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    93 lx hesitation?

Ok so this problem seems common and after doing all the research i still havent found a solution.I will describe everything as best as possible and a list of what ive done so far.The car is a 93 accord lx 5speed f22 and so far i have changed
    spark plugs
changed iacv and got rid of the code and up and down idling but theres a pretty loud humming noise coming from the iacv sensor. not shure if thats normal
tried another throttle body with new gasket.
new iat sensor to get rid of other engine code
Ive got hours and hours into the car just looking for any bad wires or vacuum leaks and everything looks good.
Now what the car does is it hesitates at lower rpms its like it just dosent go when you press the gas pedal but if you floor it then it will go. This dosent happen all the time and not when the engine first starts up. sometimes i can go for a while without the hesitation and its seems at higher rpms its ok. The research i did says it possibly could be my alternator, the coil which i believe is in the dizzy,or my timing is off due because the kid i bought the car off of said a new timing belt was installed. so those are my guesses and any help is appreciated. im going to try a new dizzy cap rotor and flush the radiator and put fresh fluid then go from there. It just dosent make sense because sometimes the car is fine with no hesitation at any rpms. No engine codes or anything.

    Alternator would not cause hesitation.
Neither would the coil (which is not in the dizzy. The one wire on your dizzy cap not going to a spark plug is going to the coil.)

The IACV could be the problem, as it is not supposed to make noise. Clean it, and then properly set your base idle (instructions can be found in the "read here first" thread at the top of this section, which I assume you've read already.)

If the timing belt is off by a tooth, the issue would be constant, as it would be mechanical. If it only happens when warm, that's likely not the case.

Is your check engine light on? Does it ever come on, say at around 50mph?
Your symptoms sound most like a failing o2 sensor to me. The o2 sensor's feedback is only used when the engine reaches full operating temperature, which would explain why it only hesitates once the car warms up. Replace the o2 sensor with a Denso or NTK unit (NO Bosch!), and see if it solves the problem.

My coupe did this a lot. Kinda like its fighting to get gas.

I put some injector cleaner in the gas and it stopped doing it for me. After like 2 or 3 refills of gas it started again. Then I just put more cleaner in it. It done that like 3 times and now it never does it.

It might help it might not. But its a cheap thing you can try.

ok so it seems to me i may have had air in the system due to my radiator not being filled all the way. Ive been topping it off a lil bit a few times thru out the day and not hesitation. Also did a few things today tho as well. I replaced dizzy cap and rotor. noticed the ground was not on thermostat housing so i hooked that up. and replaced the wire going from the coil to the dizzy. The problem i do notice now is that when i try to rev the car to say 1500 it jumps higher and goes to about 2000. Ever hear of this problem. Also i get the popping noise out of my intake manifold. Any ideas or help is appreciated thank you.
