ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Flexplate swaping to a flywheel?

the motor i have is from an auto trans... i have a manual trans thats off my old motor... can i just unbolt the 17mm 12 point bolts from the pressure plate and bolt the flywheel in its place... ive been told yes.. but the bolts might be different lenghts.. i have both sets of bolts.... does anyone know or have done this?

As I said your other thread, yes you can. It is VERY straight forward. Take off the flexplate for the auto by removing the 17mm bolts.

Since you have both sets of bolts, keep them seperate from each other, compare their lengths between each set of bolts. If the manual are different then the auto, use the manual. If they are the same, use the ones that look the best.

Put up the flywheel on motor by lining up the pin hole on the flywheel with the motor pin (inbetween two of the 17mm bolt holes).

Screw on flywheel following proper torque specs.

    Install clutch... done

You'll want to be sure to find a way to secure the flywheel while torquing the bolts. It's difficult to torque them properly with the wheel wanting to spin.

the auto bolts are too short for a manual flywheel. the auto tranny bolts usually are marked "AT" on the top...use the ones from the manual tranny if thats the tranny you are using. once you get the flywheel bolted up, i just hand tightened them down, i used a prybar wedged up against ring gear of the flywheel and the block. to try and keep the FW from moving while i torqued it down. u could also try sticking a screw driver, through one of the clutch plate mount holes, that reaches the block casting to brace it.
