ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    too much gas

My 91 accord got me about 98 with half a tank(from complete fill up of 91) I took it to a smog shop and as I thought high hc and co. The car stumbles when acceleration and if I cruse at around 50 it will start to shake like if it was bacfiring. I checked the tw sensor next to the engine temp sen on the cylinder head and its fine. I also replaced all the fuel inectors thinking that was the problem and the rissistor box. Any ideas of what this could be.

Have you checked for any engine codes?

Check the distributor cap. I actually had one crack in a spider web look to all the terminals and it ran, but like crap and was back firing and what not. Although mine was an aftermarket cap.

It sounds ignition related. But, I'm assuming you haven't read the "my car is running like crap" stickies in the beginner's section either. I would rule out everything else first that can be done for free. There's a lot of free fixes to diagnose idle problems that I would do to establish a baseline.

These are located in the stickies but because noone reads those:

Get those things done and then have your igniter inside your distributor checked at Autozone. Call ahead to see if they can.

thanks for the link Jerrett but i already ran those guys down so im leaning towards an electrical issue thats why i was checking the tw sensor to see if it was working properly cause if it wasnt it would tell the ecu that the car is not warm yet and dump more gas and it also controls the lock up solenoid

          NO check engine light codes.

I took it to a smog shop to see what it was doing and this is what it did

          15MPH 1500RPM %CO2-14.2, %02-0.4, HC-296, CO-1.09, NO-176
          25MPH 1663RPM %CO2-12.0, %02-2.9, HC-2136, CO-1.67, NO-292

thes are the max it could do
15MPH MAX HC 83 MAX CO 0.75 MAX NO 559
25MPH MAX HC 65 MAX CO 0.63 MAX NO 516
catalytic converter was swapped form a cb7 that passed smog with flying colors so that is ruled out. the red number i highlighted is the hydrocarbons which is thru the roof meaning gas is just getting pumped in

The car idles fine no problem with idle./ the problem is under load when i push the gas i can feel some hesitation.

What i have done so far for maintenance

Timing belt (set timing as well)
          Balance shaft belt
          Distributor cap and rotor
          spark plugs and wires
          pcv
          air filter
          seafoam

I am pretty sure I know what your problem is, The Coolant Temp Sensor. That sensor will tell the computer what temp the coolant is and will add more or less gas. If the sensor is reading cold then more fuel will be pumped in.

HOLY FUCKEN SHIT! Your HC is off the scale!!!

LOOk, your o2 is basically saying: 1...the cat isnt efficient at breaking down shit...or 2....you have a massive vacuum leak.

I look for vacuum leaks. IT can be anything from a line, to a gasket. What color were your plugs when you took them out?

Your co2 tells you how good the CAT is doing. ANything above 13.3 is good. But with the drop to 12% can be a CAT issue. However you put a good cat in, so you probably have either a air leak before the o2 sensor, or a o2 sensor that can be bias lean making your car run rich.

There is many contributing factors. Even a factor like a bad misfire from a bad cylinder can cause it. You got lots of stuff to look at and test.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I see you haven't tried changing the O2 sensor. Might want to give that a whirl.
