ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

automatic sputters like if it downshitfs under 30 mph

ive replaced my distributor O ring which was leaking and my spark plug tube seals which left puddle in there ,, no i have no oil leaking anymore ,, i know i might have a couple of vacuum leaks and little pin hole leaks around my cat . now i dont understand why this would only happen under 30 mph ,, the car would slow down a bit then my rpms will increase like if i was downshifting which i never do . i will be putting it in a dyno to put it underload and see the reading in a STRAP-ON lol scope to see what my readings are . i also have a feelin i wont be able to make it happen in the dyno but i wanted to see if anybody else experienced this and i would like any advice ,, i love my car and i want to keep it for at least 1 or 2 more years so i try to maintain it a lot ,, BTW my tranny is in good condition

If you have vacuum leaks, correct them. That is the only thing in your description of the problem (that I can understand) that could possibly contribute to the issue.

OR, perhaps your distributor was damaged by the oil that was leaking into it.
When you replaced the seal and reinstalled the distributor, did you properly set your ignition timing?

i didnt have time to the correct the timing ,, i did it in my emissions and driveability class in UTI ,, i wanted to check the timing but i couldnt ,, i will try to check the timing once i put it on the dyno with the timing light . i also dont have money to find and or fix the vacuum leaks ,, does anybody know an easy wsy to check for vacuum leaks other than with a smoke machine ?

So basically, what you're saying is that you were too lazy, careless, or cheap to do things properly?

You marked what when you took off the cap? The cap isn't what needs to be marked. it's the distributor's orientation to the head.

A timing like is $30 to purchase. Some stores may let you borrow one. Chances are good that someone near you probably has one that you could borrow. They may even help you use it. Do you REALLY want to pay for dyno time to adjust your ignition timing? That'd be like hiring a lawyer to read your email.

oh no im not paying for a dyno , sir , i am doing it on my advanced diag class which has a dyno for students to use.

I am also not lazy. when i said i didnt have the time to check the timing its because my am class had to leave so i was either gonna finish up ehat i did or get pushed out with no ride home. You are twisting my words up
