ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

First start by checking the resistance of the iac then the voltage of going to the iac, make sire you have 12v going to it, and make sure there's no cell for iac, then with the iac connected use a voltmeter and check the voltage of the iac at idle, (don't mind the voltage at idle since every car is.different) pay attention to the voltage when you turn on the a/c as it should increase opening the stepper motor. If voltage stays the same the ecu is not sending the idle up signal try a different ecu
    Timing......... Rookies
Well when my timing was off, my car would act the exact same until it was set right.

hmmm,, u guys are too good in this,, i went to the technician yesterday n complained that they changed the timing and for that the idle is not normal anymore, first all were quiet,,,then they suddenly started laughing at me,,, that how could the timing be out by ONLY turning the AC on,,, anyways they told me to drop the car there for a day which i did,,and then they only changed the IACV of my car,,,
everything is good, but when i start the car when it is cold, the idle raises and drops down until the car gets warm, when the car gets warm, it runs smooth but lets say if i am driving the car in second gear, and i let the accelerator go, while the idle is dropping, the car stutters alot,,, and jerks off,,, is that IAC bad that i changed from the junk yard? it happens every time,, yes one more thing, on disconecting the IAC valve, the ildle DOES NOT drop, but it drops when the AC is on,,, need more advice please

A voltmeter will be the answer in the end

Or remove it, hit it with power, and see if it moves.

today i went to the junk yard and i took 3 of the IAC valves and changed it in my car,,, when i changed the first one, everything came back to normal, i tightened the FITV as well,,,now the thing is,that i fixed the first IAC valve, and i unpluged the black wire which fixes on the IAC valve, the car did not stalled,,,i took it off,and i changed the 2nd one, same thing, the car did not stalled with the AC off,,, but with the AC on, if i take off that wire , it stalled,,, 3rd IAC valve was changed and again was the same thing, the idle was perfect, but when i drive the car, no jerks and no miss fires, but when i let go the accelerator, the engine jerks when the RPM drops, if i turn the AC on, with the compressor on, the car does not jerk while the RPM drops while car slow down, but when the Compressor of AC trips , the car again jerks when i let the accelerator go,,, while driving in the third or second gear,if the RPM goes down to 1500 or less, sometimes it jerks too hard with the AC off,,,
the thing is,how could the three IAC valves be defected???with the old one, the car was stalling with that wire unpluged,,but the other three didnt have the same? the new one is way too expensive,,,shud i go to any other junk yard or shud i be sure to use the volt meter? i am just a simple common person trying to solve the problem at my own, i m not technical ,,, ur precious advice is needed please?

Did you clean and verify the plunger moved inside before installing? If not, it doesn't surprise me your still having issues.

i did it today,,, i washed it thoroghly from inside,,,but the problem still exists,,,shud i change the spark plug cables and spark plugs and the fuel filter????

the idle doesnt have anyyyy problem, everything is perfect, except the missing when the idle drops from 1500-1000.... the car jerks,,, or shud i again check some other source,,i check the voltage today,,and the connected two terminals of the IAC valve,,its 12.4 V,,,,everything seems to be perfect from that side,, the car doesnt stall with the AC off,,, why???why isnt it dropping the RPM when i take the IAC wire plug out from the IAC valve?but if i turn on the AC,,the RPM drops and car starts stalling ,,,?
