ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    h23a1 plenum problem...?

I am having trouble getting the butterfly valves to actually open in the plenum, and I think this is a huge contributor to why my car isn't running the way it should. any suggestions? or diagrams of vacuum lines that I could use to get that plunger to operate properly??

    thanks a bunch!

It would be bolted to the bottom of your runners? Did you just replace the plenum? Or did you add A6 runners to an A1/4?

Ok then it should have the box already. What ECU did you get with the engine? It should be a P14.

this is an older picture. i've added a vacuum hose running from the intake tube over to that diaphragm. almost every hose diagram i've looked at has just confused me, and a mechanic told me to try this. but it still didn't do anything.

Well if you didn't have an A6 engine to start with, the plug for the box won't be there. You have to go get a 2 pin connector from the jy, hook the yellow/blk to a switched 12v source, and the other wire has to be wired to pin A9 at the ECU.

no, i had an f22a1. so wiring is the only thing i need to do to it? there is a plug on the side of the intake next to that diaphragm. where should the vacuum line run?

Well there's a sensor near the diaphragm, the temp sensor and it takes a 2 pin plug as well. The vacuum line for the diaphragm can go to any intake line on the manifold.

Let us know if you need help wiring the box up, that plug won't be there, your gonna have to add it. Do you have the line on the back of the manifold hooked up? It will have an odd plastic piece, believe it's white or orange, it's right near the manifold.

Wait, did you get the H23 harness with it? Then the plug is there, but it stops where you joined the H23 and A1 harnesses near the shock tower.

i actually used my original wire harness, which is pretty beat up. broken plugs and shit. lol. i plan on getting a custom harness when i can save up some money. i just happened to lose my job last year as soon as i started the swap. so it's been pretty rough. plus, i'm definitely a beginner so i'm still getting used to all the names for the parts. for example, what's the shock tower? lol.

oh, and the vacuum line can't run to the actual intake tube? it's gotta be on the actual manifold, right?
