ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Suspension rebuild.

I'm planning on replacing some stuff on my suspension. Even the slightest bumps makes me car squeak, and ride rough. I decided to start off with the energy suspension first..what else do u guys recommend me upgrading? The only thing new on my car is the skunk2 springs and some decent struts. Pretty brand new I should say

What are "decent struts"? Skunk2 springs have a VERY high spring rate, and drop you a little more than 2". That's more than almost any common strut on the market can handle, short of Koni Red/Yellow or Tokico Illumina. Squeaks and a rough ride could be blown struts. New or not, if they're not made to handle those springs, they could already be done.

Other than that, yes... replace all of your bushings.

I got a strong feeling it's a blown strut.. They are Monroe struts. I wanted to lower my car so bad my dumbass didn't wanna wait so I jus ran to pep boys and got the Monroe's. Anyway to actually tell without taking them out? Cuz I mean it doesn't really seem like the struts but I'm prolly wrong

lol... those are a OE strut... that would be like putting those springs on stock struts, not a good idea, get some koni yellows, or the other 2 that deev said... hes done TONS of research into this. and he is right

FYI, no matter how good you lube poly bushings (ES or Prothane) they will sqeak especially in the winter. If your goal is no squeaks replace the bushings with oem or moog. If your goal is performance first the poly are stiffer than the oem rubber and perform very well!

I've read that the carbon infused poly bushings don't squeak as badly... but that was a long time ago that I heard that, and I have no firsthand experience with it. I THINK that's the difference between the black and red ES bushings, but again... I don't know for certain. It's something worth researching, at least.

And yes, Monroe shocks are garbage even for an all-stock car! Nevermind the annoying squeak... that's more of a safety issue than anything else!

Yeah the graphite infused (black) bushings squeak less than the red ones. Ask me how I know the black ones still squeak? Because I installed them all lubed up and they still squeak in the cold. The temps need to be above 80 ambient before the squeaking dies away.

Of course, there are good reasons why OEM bushings aren't polyurethane... squeaking and vibration transfer! You sacrifice a bit for performance.
