ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

my car was tuned before i bought it, how do i know with what?

from what i was told by the previous owner, my h22a has a chipped p28 ecu and was previously tuned. i know this is valid (at least the tuning part because vtec kicks in at 4500rpm versus the stock 5500rpm) how do i know what it was tuned with in the even that i get a retune. i havent found a stand alone ecu so i dont think its hondata or aem ems. so i should assume its software only based tune like chrome or maybe something else? is there anyway to find out or would it just be smarter to get a standalone to avoid any (although im nt sure if my concern is valid) compatibility issues?

Pull the ecu out and take a photo of the internals.

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

Hondata S300 uses a chipped OBD1 ECU, it is not a stand alone.

As said above, take the ECU out and open up the cover. Take a picture and post it up. Hondata and Neptune use distinctive pieces of hardware added to the ECU. eCtune and Crome can have a ZIF socket and a chip. You would need software in order to tell witch one has been used. In any case they can easily be tuned with ether piece of software. Hondata and Neptune are hardware and software specific.

Most tuners should be able to tune any of the 4 common pieces of software anyway.

ok sounds good, its really nice out, and i wanted to take a detailed look at everything anyways. including where my exhaust is leaking and what shocks/springs im running. i didnt look at it thoroughly when i got it, i was amped that i was getting a h22a swapped cb7 for 2000 bucks. i was willing to overlook the details.

The easiest way to find out would be to contact the person that owned it previously.
