ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

And definitely an engine management system that can be tuned.
    OH OK...
yea i think i would be happy shifting at 8 =D
so is it a pain to find those parts?
an totally random but does the j37 fit?

The J37 will fit with MAJOR modification. Based on your questions here, your level of experience would result in it being an incredibly difficult project, if you ever completed it at all. The only J swap I've ever seen in a CB needed serious modification to the hood, and I don't think it even ran all that well. Not worth it, IMO.

Anyway, back on topic... JDM F22B parts specifically are hard to find, yes. However, the bottom end is very close to the F22A, and the head is very close to the H23A1. Using parts for those two engines, you can build the F22B pretty well.
To safely rev that motor to 8k, and actually benefit from it (making power at that RPM), you're going to end up spending quite a bit of money. I'm talking well over $1000 in the block, about the same in the head, and whatever it costs to have everything installed if you're unable to do it yourself. It'd be a waste to JUST install the parts that would allow you to safely rev that high, since you won't be making power without additional mods... so that with all the supporting mods could easily top $5000-$7000 for the complete build.

Once you get inside the engine, everything affects everything else... and the greatest benefit comes from modifying/improviing ALL of it to work properly together. That gets expensive REAL quick!

Ok I see were your coming from...
So basically if I'm going through the trouble of building internals then do a lot of them while I'm already in there...

Exactly. Everything affects everything else. If you did one thing at a time, you'd be rebuilding the motor multiple times to perform each additional modification. If you want to make any real power while revving significantly higher than stock, you'll need to do all of them. If you just do the things necessary to make the engine strong enough to rev higher than stock, and nothing else, you won't see any benefit from it. You'll rev to a certain point and your power will drop. The engine may still rev, but unless it can flow properly at that high RPM, it's worthless.

yes i understand.. thats why i was saying even when i raced it i only took it to 6... i could feel the car...it has more torque than hp....
            least it feels that way...
so basically i just need to get the car to be a reliable daily an save the money for the build...
