ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    harmonic balancer bolt

Yeah that bolt. The tightest bolt on our cars. I am putting a motor together for my other cb7 and I cant get the bolt off.
    I have tryed
    250 foot pound impact @ 100 psi
Harbor fright 500 foot pound impact with heat @ 100 psi
the tool that holds the harmonic balancer so you can crank on it. I was jumping on the wrench.

    what do I need?

are you using extensions between the socket and the impact? if you are, don't and that will help. is 100psi the highest you can get? obviously you could try more if you have the option.

the nifty little tool that holds the crank while you crack the 19 loose, i got mine from matco, look it up under specialty tools in tas auto. ive seen cheap ones break or wanna strip. worse comes to worse get a big ol bar on the end of that breaker bar

If your trans is still attatched, pull the timing plug and stuff a prybar in the flywheel teeth and have someone break the 19 loose GL

Have you tried combining penetrating lubricant AFTER heating it? Right after torching the nut, spray either PB Blast or Tri-Flow (it's an industrial product, so the internet's where your gonna find it) on the bolt, and as it cools, it'll suck the lubricant right in. Out of preference I'd use those two, but I'd use WD-40 if I didn't have either.

i used the crank pulley holder tool wedged against the floor and a 3 foot breaker bar to break it loose.

also used a lot of heat and penentrating oil

ingersoll rand impact gun backed with a lot of air pressure

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

              This man knows whats up^^

Also, if you think its rusted stuck... 50% automatic transmission fluid and 50% acetone is one of the best known rust penetrants.

Yes you will definitely need the Honda key for the crank.

Then use a an impact socket (black molybdenum). I recommend the 3/4 (not 1/2 inch) size extension and 2 x breaker bars (all in 3/4 inches).

One breaker bar stabilises the key (against the floor).
Place the impact socket on the bolt.
Connect the extension to the socket and support with a jack stand
Connect 2nd breaker bar. Use a cheat pipe to increase the length/leverage (torque power). My cheat pipe was 6 ft long.

You can spray/or hit it the bolt with heat (blow torch) prior to turning
Turn the bolt towards the front of the car (anti clock wise)
Not very difficult with that kind of set up.

on mine i had a about 8 foot bar attached and about 200 pounds on the end of it to break it loose.. after i had sprayed it 32974 times the night before with PB blaster... so needless to say... air most likely wont work(it may... but...) so try to get the longest pipe u can...

                        Ingersoll-Rand 2135TI

                        1000ft-lbs

great for breaking/shearing bolts but you need good air pressure behind it. shop air is 150 psi.

I just used 2 bars, I had one, my friend had the other, we had the bars up top and pushed towards each other. It came right off, and it was on an engine stand.
