ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    More problems, leaking oil.

No matter how much I do my best to take care of this car, she keeps shitting on me.

Noticed a small puddle underneath the car. Oil is leaking where the transmission meets the motor, its leaking very slowly. But it looks like theres a rubber gasket I am guessing that will need to be replaced. Also noticed that the oil pan at the top where it bolts on is very wet with oil, so I am assuming that this needs replacing too.

So, I would like to do this myself, I know it is going to take a lot of work, My uncle told me that the transmission will have to be dropped. Before I go buy a gasket, I need to know how to determine what type of transmission I have? I bought the car with the swap done. Auto to manual. Previous owner said it was lsd, but I've found many things he said to be false. So I would just like to confirm before buying the wrong gasket. Thanks.

are you sure that this is the problem? when i first got my CB it had a gradual oil leak that turned in to a HUGE oil leak. i searched and searched on the forum and all arrows pointed to the sender unit above the filter. it was a $7 part and a bitch to get to but it stoped the leak. Have you gotten a chance to do a good degeasing? the soiled oil spots might be buildup from a problem elsewhere. i may be totally wrong but the sender unit took care of my leak.

I was sure until reading your post. I mean I've only taken a look at it. You're right. I'll clean her up nice, and then look again. Now that you mention it, your post makes even more sense because the oil is not just pooling in one drip, they're like small blobs along underneath tranny. and it doesnt leak all the time, only now and then. Like right now, i just took a look and there is no fresh oil spots.
