ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I don't believe Eibach makes that kit for our cars.

Your best bet is a set of H&R or Neuspeed Race springs matched with Koni Yellow shocks. Ingalls or SPC front camber kit, "washer trick" camber correction in the rear (search for it.)

Im running blue Tokicos with yellow Neuspeed springs and it gives a nice 2inch drop but only slight camber in the front. The ride is pretty smooth, but just like any other lowered car the pot holes hit hard if you don't dodge them lol

Those shocks should not be used with those springs.

They are only a very slight upgrade over stock... made for a drop of no more than about 1.2", with a spring rate no greater than 15% over stock.

I swear, does anyone do research on suspension components before slapping shit on their car?

hmmm they have never given me any problems though but your right that setup was not really researched when I put it on but it had been tested before on a different car so I was ok with putting it on.

That's one of the best setups you can get for a reasonable price for our cars.
Add a proper camber kit, get an alignment... and you're in business. $800 or so for everything (not including bushings, ball joints, axles... things that might need to be replaced in the process of changing out the shocks/springs.)

Just because it "feels ok" and "worked on another car" doesn't mean that it's correct... or safe.
The amount of poorly planned suspension systems on this site is astounding. People just buy random parts and throw them at their cars, basing their decisions largely on what other ignorant people say on forums. Your life is riding on your suspension. A poorly matched spring/shock combo will cause the car to respond improperly in an emergency, causing you to lose control of the vehicle... probably while traveling at a high speed.
Improperly matched parts that are new and made by quality manufacturers (such as Neuspeed and Tokico) are better than cheap no-name crap, or worse, blown 20 year old shocks and cut springs... but they're still not right, and they are still dangerous.

Ok I see what your saying
So how would I go about researching shocks that would be good enough to hold the Yellow Neuspeed springs?

The easiest way would be to learn the exact drop and spring rate of your springs, and contact the manufacturers of performance shocks asking them if their products will work for your application.

That, or just take the easy way and get some Koni Yellows, since they will work just fine with those springs. Neuspeed actually used to sell them as a matched pair.

rRsearch I did on the suspension thread tells it all. Just go there and find out. if your going lower than 1.2 like serve said get koni yellows cause they support the spring rate. If not yet some full coilovers like function form, megans, etc. It's in the suspension thread.

Thanks Deev, appreciate the help and advice, you know its funny because usually every time some one ask a question I look for a response from you because you seem to always know the answer lol and sounds like you have been working with CBs for sometime, but yeah Im going to look into the Koni Yellows

For "race" spring rates such as the Neuspeed/H&R race have, you will want to stick with Koni Yellows IF you want adjustability, OR for a little bit better and more consistent shock but without adjustability go for the Bilstein shocks. TOP quality there!
