Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Bad mileage, Bogging up and down and no power

    So heres the deal. I just got this car (traded it for my 94 passat glx) and it has a few problems.

    1. Im not too sure on this, but it has shitty mileage. Its either that or i just drive too much. Maybe the other problems might be related to this one?

    2. It boggs up and down. On start up, its fine, but once its warmed up it'll begin to jump rpms between 1000 to 400. Sometimes it'll get to the point where it feels like the engines going to stall but the rpms jump right back up.

    3. The car has absolutely no power. At full throttle, the speed climbs really slow and sluggish. The car also has its CEL on.

    I have a few ideas on what could be the problem, but just to see what you guys think. For the rpm jumping around, i think it might be the FITV, IACV or the TB. Got these parts from the local junker and going to replace them soon (cleaned the IACV and tightened the FITV). As for the power, it might be the timing being retarded? let me know what you guys think.

    The power issue and boog sounds like timing to me or at the very worst a worn out engine.

    As for the Jumping idle i'd look into the IACV or air pockects in the system will cause it off and on aswell.

      Have you checked the CEL? That could be the issue for ALL your problems.

        Very good point read over this, i agree check the cel ASAP it may be the answers to your issues.
