ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    rattling?

When I drive my car especially atlow speeds, I hear a rattling and crunching in the front end when I hit small bumps. What could this be? I have a set of synergy bushings. Would these help?

Synergy? Bushings for what? Without knowing what is making the noise, and what bushings they are, we can't possibly say what will help!

Rattling and crunching could be anything... shocks, ball joints, sway bar bushings, heat shields... Is your car modified at all?

Best case scenario, it could be that the splash guards came loose either under your engine bay (if this was the case it would be scraping across the bumps) or the splash guards in the wheel wells (they could be scraping on the tire as you hit the bump). They're made of plastic. Just an annoyance really. On the flip side, it could be a slew of other things (as mentioned above).

Can you feel the 'rattling' or just hear it? Does it rattle in reverse or under any other circumstances than small, low speed bumps?

If you think it is mechanical, be sure to get it checked out as soon as possible.

            Its a safety issue...
Just looking out for you! :
^I want to plaster that on a billboard somewhere.

Hopefully it is not mechanical though.
Check all your lights and blinkers and whatnot. If you have fogs the brackets could be shaking around in the bumper.

Hah thanks lol and no, its a crunching metal to metal sounds. Which leads to to think ball joints.. how hard are those to replace? The chassis has 380,000 miles on it so what could all mechanical possibility be?

With that many miles, it could be everything!
                Ball joints (upper and/or lower)
Upper and/or lower control arm bushings
Stabilizer bar bushings (either the end links or the bushings to the cross member)
Strut bushings (the brace that goes diagonally from the lower control arm to the front cross member)
                Shock/strut
                Broken springs

With that many miles, it is probably time to replace all the stuff that fleetw00d mentioned. I did a complete suspension rebuild on my wife's car (325k) and I was quite surprised by the extensive wear and astonished that nothing had failed while she was on the road.

Once again, it is crucial: check all your suspension components. For your safety and those on the road with you... Suspension checks:
