I recently failed the NOx portion of the emissions. From what I understand it has something to do with the EGR system. I have an H-series manifold. Can I use the EGR off of it on my F-series mani.?

There are a lot of different reasons you can have high(er) NOx readings (high temps/lean)
Do you currently have an EGR hooked up? The H series use a different plug, you can swap your F EGR over to the H manifold and plug right into it as normal. If you do this, you might as well clean the ports up on the EGR and manifold while you have them off. The EGR is definitely a possibility for the high readings.
So are things like: to much ignition timing (advanced too much, ie: you can usually retard a degree or two and bring the combustion temps back down a notch before you go back in), o2 sensor, exhaust leaks, bad cat, shotty cooling system causing your engine to run hot...etc -

You can start by checking all your spark plugs. Look at them closely. This will tell you if it is isolated to one cylinder or a possible egr or sensor issue. If you are close to passing, just retard the timing and you should pass.Comment
