Yeah, H22 head... bad idea. Frankenstein builds make no sense with these motors, without EXTENSIVE modification.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

93redcb7, that made no sense.
OP, both myself, Deevergote and many others through the years have answered why you should not mix and match heads of different bore sizes. Search. I can't speak as to the depth that others went in their explanation but I covered it thoroughly. Search and you shall find.
Also, I'll throw you a bone on something else.
Really, not rele. I had a bit of trouble typing that because my phone insisted I meant something else.Last edited by Jarrett; 02-15-2012, 03:59 PM.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

You're not graded, but this forum does serve the purpose to act as a source on information for the many topics we discuss. Since you have obviously benefit from its use it seems only natural that you should want to contribute where you can. If right now that capacity is only in caring enough to speak correctly and not being offended when your mistakes are called to attention in a non-hostile manner, then that's enough. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Well I guess sometimes I can be a bit of a sarcastic person and I'm not offended about being called outon it. I'm still getting.used to the site and have not been here for the past couple years to see the extensive information of head swaps. Sometimes when in a hurry I will spell in a improper way.ill work on not doing that here. It was just one of those things I saw to be irrelevant the what I asked. Sorry.

I you can take criticism like that in other facets, you'll go far in life.

The last post on that thread. The reason that thread is locked is because of the amount of times it gets brought up. If you have any more questions on specific cases, pm me.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

I take criticism well but as I said sarcasm is were it may seem I don't.
I see what your saying about the head. However deev said a f22b Dohc on my f22a1 would be aņ OK and sensible swap yes?
I am in need of replacing my transmission as well, and being on a buget sucks I have no reverse in my car. I am replacing it with whatever i Get back from taxes. Would a Accord trans. Or a prelude work best. I found a few accords and. A couple prelude trans just didn't know how the gears were and whicch would be better in which cases.
Edit: and some cases of my misspellings are from the fact that I use the site primarily on my phone and sometimes when typing my slow.poke phone does ņot agree with spelling or punctuationLast edited by lowcb7; 02-16-2012, 02:14 AM.

90% of my posts are from my phone as well. Including all of them in this thread.
Yes, the F22B/F20A DOHC heads are prime candidates for head swaps. Both of those heads came from engines that share the 85mm bore of the F22A. A few other things need to be changed around like the timing components based on what you start out with most of. But that's covered in other threads already.
The transmission problem would be best served by just finding a replacement Accord transmission. Assuming its a manual then the '94-'02 transmissions will require you to drill new stud holes in the case (covered elsewhere) but a '90-'93 will bolt right in. Any Prelude transmission is going to offer you more performance oriented gearing and will also require the new stud holes. If you have an automatic then the issue becomes a bit more complicated with matching the TCU to the transmission you put in the car.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Yes I have been looking into the head swap timing issue.
And yes I should have stated my current trans mission setup. Its a 90 lx auto. I have consideres a 5speed swap but a getting mixed options on whether the extra work is worth the outcome. My future outcome of the car is more toward performance I didn't realize the tcu issue. Do you think a 5speed swap is worth the work?

It depends. If you've spent lots of money on the car for modifications that aren't particularly easy to remove, and you like the trim/body style/color/condition of the car, yes. If not, it's often easier to just go buy one the way you would want your vehicle to be based off of. If you want to go with a more performance-oriented setup, I would recommend the manual. Don't let anyone give you any opinionated information beyond that. No one knows what your resources and capabilities are. Someone telling you that the swap was totally worth it takes nothing about your particular situation into account. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Ya I love my blue CB! lol. And even tho i havent done expensive or extensive Mods it being my first car, I had no plans of letting go. I know someone who did the swap in his CB. ( darkhusk) and said its pretty straight forward. I may go with the head swap and prelude 5 speed. If the price is right.
